Description

Disneyland - Disneyland Railroad 1970s Conductor Hat Badge and 1980s Conductor Hat Badge (Walt Disney, c. 1970s-1980s). The Disneyland Railroad is one of the elements of Disneyland that has existed since the park's opening in 1955, and it continues to delight guests with the opportunity to experience authentic steam-powered trains nearly 70 years later. This group of conductor hat badges comes from two different decades of the Disneyland Railroad's history. The first piece was worn by conductors for the Disneyland Railroad during the 1970s. It features an image of Sleeping Beauty Castle. The second piece was worn by conductors in the 1980s. It displays the logo for the Disneyland Railroad. Both pieces are made with solid, durable metal with blue enamel details. The badges were made with a slight curve so that they would better fit on the hats worn by the railroad's conductors. The 1970s badge measures about 4" x 1.5", and the 1980s badge measures about 4.125" x 1.75". The 1970s badge is in Good to Very Good condition, with some handling and wear, including minor tarnishing and scuffing. The 80s badge is in Very Good condition, with minor handling and edge wear, including minor scratching.
From the Rummell Collection.
