Description
"Sheriff of Bullet Valley" Donald Duck Bronze Statue (Walt Disney, 1995). Sheriff Donald is ready to take on a bunch of crafty cattle rustlers in this beautiful bronze statue, inspired by the cover art from the classic 1948 Donald Duck comic book story "Sheriff of Bullet Valley" by Carl Barks. This piece was originally offered at the 1995 Disneyana Convention, held at Disneyland in an edition of only 200 pieces. This special piece has been custom colored, and it is the only one done like this; it was professionally colored privately by artist Pam Murray, a well-known sculptor, artist and collaborator of Henry Alvarez, Wolf's Head Productions, Randy Noble, Darren Wilson and David Dross to name a few. The striking bronze is 14" tall on a marble base. Pam Murray has over 20 years experience sculpting and painting, but is known for her Vinylmation Custom Artwork and working at the Gallery at Downtown Disney. The bronze was created by artist Paul Vought and was cast at Parks Bronze Foundry in Wallowa County, Oregon. Carl Barks (1901 - 2000) and Paul Vought were in attendance at the Disneyana Convention and have hand-signed the base in gold ink. The back of the base also has the hand-written notation "Disneyana 2/18/95". The piece shows very little handling wear, and this remarkably rare statue is in Fine condition.Auction Info
