Description

Walt Disney World - Tomorrowland and Toontown Fair Double-Sided Lamp Post Sign (Walt Disney, c. 1996-2011). Inspired by Mickey's Toontown at Disneyland in Anaheim, Toontown Fair opened in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in 1996. The wacky, toon-themed area was closed in 2011 and rethemed Storybook Circus as part of the Magic Kingdom's New Fantasyland expansion. This sign is from the Toontown Fair era in Disney World. This incredible Mickey-shaped sign is two-sided. It was hung from lamp posts on the path between Tomorrowland and Toontown Fair. One side of the sign, reading "Tomorrowland" with a mechanical, gear-filled design, would be seen as you were walking toward Tomorrowland. The other side, a balloon-like design reading "Mickey's Toontown Fair," was visible while you were walking toward Toontown Fair. The incredible sign features vibrant hand-stenciled imagery with airbrushed details. The large metal sign measures about 28" x 22.5" in size. It would make a fantastic addition to any Disney fan's collection! The piece is in Very Good condition, with some handling and wear from its use in the park, including some wear to the hangers at the top of the sign.
From the Rummell Collection.
