Description

Alex Toth Creepy #75 Story Page 7 "Phantom of Pleasure Island!" Original Art (Warren, 1975). Private Detective Hubb Hapin attempts to push carnival owners out of the aim of a rooftop sniper. Toth's brilliant use of panel to panel shifting aspects unfolds the assassination attempt on this dynamic page rendered on unconventional page-stock with a combination of Higgins Ink, felt marker, and grayscale watercolors. Crafted in mixed media over graphite on a parchment-like watercolor stock with an image area of 10" x 15.25". Signed by Alex Toth in the lower margin and in Panel 5. The page is toned with production tape on the panel border. Stat text paste-ups in Panels 6 and 8; and whiteout text corrections in Panels 1, 2, and 7. In Excellent condition.
