Description
Daffy Duck's Fantastic Island Spike and Chester Production Cel (Warner Brothers, 1983). The lovable team of Spike the Bulldog and Chester the Terrier made their debut in the 1952 short Tree for Two. They made two shorts together and were voiced by Mel Blanc and Stan Freberg. They appear in this compilation movie that used a Fantasy Island parody as its theme to bring in classic cartoons. Spike and Chester's wish is answered by the Well -- "If that's his wish and yours alike, I'll make Chester brave and strong like Spike." The short Tree for Two is shown within the film. This is a rare hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of both Spike and Chester from this film, with great images measuring 4" and 6". The cel has a Warner Brothers seal and is hand-signed by animation legend and director of this film, Friz Freleng (1906 - 1995); however, the red marker signature has faded a bit. A Spike and Chester production cel is considered very rare. Matted with an opening of 11" x 9", and framed with glass for an overall size of 18" x 16". Frame is sold as-is. Cel is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
