Description
Carl Barks Always Another Rainbow Uncle Scrooge Figurine Sketch Preliminary Original Art (Another Rainbow, 1992). Carl Barks' greatest creation, Scrooge McDuck, takes center stage in this prelim sketch prepared as a working guide for porcelain artisans, charting pose and hand placement for a limited-edition ceramic. The figure depicts a young, flinty-eyed Scrooge gripping a sack of Yukon gold "earned the hard way" with sheer Scottish stubbornness, capturing him at the dawn of his fortune-building years and drawing directly from Barks' iconic 1974 painting of the same name. Rendered in graphite, blue pencil, and red pencil on onion skin with an image area of 8.25" x 9", matted and glass-front framed to 14" x 16.75". The drawing has been mounted with archival tape onto an acid-free foam core backing according to the accompanying Another Rainbow COA on the reverse of the frame. Toning and minor staining.
