Description

Ross Andru and Mike Esposito Get Lost #2 Complete 1-Page Story "The Meddling Reporter" Original Art (Mikeross Publ., 1954). The influence of Harvey Kurtzman's MAD -- first of its satirical kind in the comic book industry -- was prompt and over-reaching. One of the more intriguing ersatz-MAD titles, the short-lived Get Lost, came from the partnership of Ross Andru and Mike Esposito -- artists who would develop a more lasting identity with DC Comics' war-adventure books, and with superhero comics in general. This page is a parody of the "man on the street" school of journalism, tied to the flying saucer craze of the 1950s. Ink over graphite on toned and creased Bristol board, with an image area of 12" x 18". With adhesive seams and white paint retouching, the piece is intact and as such in Very Good condition.
From the Roger Hill Collection.
