Not Sold Description
Mickey Mouse Mickey's Man Friday/Monkey Melodies Production Cel and Production Background Setup (Walt Disney, 1935/1930). If you like early Mickey Mouse, you can't get much better than this setup! It is one of the finest black and white Mickey setups we have ever come across. The (extremely rare) 12 field nitrate hand-inked, hand-painted black and white cel features a fantastic action shot of a full body Mickey from the Dave Hand directed theatrical short Mickey's Man Friday that released on 1-5-35. Animation on the short was handled by Johnny Cannon and Clyde Geronimi and it was one of Mickey's last B&W theatrical shorts. He measures 3" on the cel, which can be seen at about the 4:54 mark when he jumps from the Crow's Nest in the booby-trapped fort. The background works wonderfully with this great image. The background is from the 1930 black and white Silly Symphony short Monkey Melodies that released on 9-26-30. It was directed by Bert Gillett. Production notes on the background can be seen in the bottom edge of the 11" x 9" image area. Matted and Plexiglas front framed to 21" x 19". In Fine condition.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five. See also: Fab Five, Disney's Fab Five Artist.
