Little Man at Disneyland Storybook Illustrations by Dick Kelsey Group of 4 (Walt Disney/Random House, 1955). Group of four original artboards from this classic Little Golden Book/Mickey Mouse Club Book. It told the story of Patrick Begorra, a Leprechaun who lives in a tiny house in the roots of a Disneyland tree. This is one of the most popular Disneyland Little Golden Books ever written. It was illustrated by Dick Kelsey (1905-1987), a Disney Animation art director, theme park designer (Disneyland/Magic Mountain) and a noted children's book illustrator. The book was so popular that a small house was installed in the roots of a tree in the Jungle Cruise. It was later moved to a tree by the Indiana Jones Adventure. The art is painted in gouache on illustration board measuring 16" x 11", showcasing Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and the Leprechaun, Patrick Begorra. The artboards are for two-page spreads, each includes taped-on text as published. An important group of Disney Children's Book artwork! Each of the four two-page spreads are matted with openings of 13" x 9"; overall mat size is 19" x 15". Minor handling wear. Very Good condition.More information about Walt Disney Studios - Fab Five.
