Description
Dave Gibbons Doctor Who #11 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1985). "You may be a doctor. But I am the Doctor. The definite article, you might say!" Tom Baker's fanciful Fourth Doctor is featured taking fire from a nameless bounty hunter on this cover from co-creator and legendary artist of Watchmen, Dave Gibbons! The cover was created using ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". The corner box with TARDIS, logo, and word balloons are all created as stat paste-ups, some of which are attached with tape. There is light toning, spots of adhesive residue, and marginal notes, with minor edge and corner wear. Gibbons has signed the cover in the image area and once in the bottom margin by then Marvel Editor-In-Chief Jim Shooter and it is in overall Excellent condition.
