Description
X-Men: The Animated Series "Days of the Future Past, Pat 2" Sunfire and Sentinel Original Production Cel (Marvel Studios, 1993). "The Sentinels herd the surviving mutants into detention camps. The camps are your final stop." Bishop makes it quite clear that there is no future for mutants. Here we have a full-figured and centered Sunfire as he attempts to outrun the mutant hunting Sentinel in this hand-painted cel. Originally aired on 3/20/1993 as Episode 12 of Season 1, we follow the time-travelling mutant Bishop as he sets out to prevent Gambit from assassinating the President of the United States in order for his future to not come to pass. This episode is adapted from The Uncanny X-Men #142. The fire-wielding mutant Sunfire was created by Marvel's legendary writer Roy Thomas and artist Don Heck (1929-1995) where he made his debut in the incredibly popular Marvel Comics X-Men #64 in 1970. The 12 field cel image can be seen at the 5:01 mark of the episode. The combined character size of Sunfire and the Sentinel measures about 8.25" x 7.75" and is displayed over a print background for presentation purposes.
