Description

Jim Borgman "Jimmy Carter" and "Ronald Reagan" Cartoon Sketches Original Art (1980). Stan Freberg's influence quite naturally crossed over into the field of editorial cartoons. Here is a pair of one-of-a-kind drawings of Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter drawn in sharpie marker on large pad paper. These were done by political cartoonist and syndicated comic strip creator of Zits, Jim Borgman. Included is a large inscribed sketch of Jimmy Carter marked "For Stan Today the Pits" and of Ronald Reagan, noted "For Stan Tomorrow the Wrinkles" (in honor of Stan's classic Sunsweet Prunes commercial). Both are hand-signed by Jim Borgman, and believed to be done around the time of the 1980 Presidential election. Framed to 27" x 32" (with a cracked glass front on the Jimmy Carter piece). Minor wrinkles in frame, otherwise Fine.
