Description
Adam Hughes - Red Sonja Illustration Original Art (c. 2005). This battle-ready depiction of the scarlet-haired She-Devil with a Sword, created by fan-favorite artist Adam Hughes, was originally crafted as a commission piece. From there, it was used as a variant cover for the RRP Edition of Red Sonja #2 in 2005. In 2008, Dynamite used Hughes' artwork as the inspiration for a Red Sonja statue, bringing his powerful rendition into three-dimensional form. Rounding out its collectible legacy, this gorgeous illustration was later featured as the card art for Card #16 in the 35 Years of Red Sonja: Back to Basics trading card series issued by Dynamic Forces and Dynamite in 2009. Rendered in ink, marker, and white paint over graphite on Bristol board with an edge-to-edge image area of 11" x 13.75". Light handling wear and one piece of tape on the reverse. Signed in the lower left corner by Hughes with his iconic "AH!". In Excellent condition.From the Ken Caviness Collection.
