Description

Alex Toth and Sy Barry All-American Western #121 Story Page 6 Johnny Thunder Original Art (DC, 1951). Fan-favorite artist Alex Toth turns in a great looking page that features a nice panel of Johnny Thunder with his horse Black Lighting, and also a panel with that natty dressed school teacher John Tane. Toth is well-remembered for his comic book art, and also for being one of the power-house designer and artists at Hanna-Barbera Studios in the 1960-70s. On this page from the story "The Unmasking of Johnny Thunder", written by Robert Kanigher, John Tane (secretly Johnny Thunder) has a moment with his father. The art was produced twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13" x 19" (including the stat paste-up header). There is a missing stripped-in text correction, leaving a hole in the third panel, and there is some whiteout art correction in the last panel. The board is toned. Overall, in Very Good condition.
