Description
Howard Nostrand Chamber of Chills #19 Complete 5-Page Story "TerrorVision" Original Art (Harvey, 1953). EC Comics' Jack Davis had set the bar high for an inimitable fusion of humor and horror with his Tales from the Crypt stories at EC Comics. Rival Harvey Comics assigned Nostrand to mimic the Davis style at every opportunity. Such deliberate attempts fall short of the classic Davis standard, but Nostrand's vivid and emphatic compositions demonstrate at least why EC remains the horror-comics kingpin in terms of influence and narrative momentum. The present selection imagines the development of a color-television receiver (still a long way from everyday household use, in 1953) that opens a gateway to a dimension of unimaginable terrors. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 12" x 18". Minimal age-toning, handling wear. One marginal page-repair seam on Page 1. Average Very Good condition.Lookup the Comic Book in our Guide
