Frank Bolle Robin Hood #53 (2) Cover Original Art (Magazine Enterprises, 1956). The legendary English outlaw leaps, lunges, and locks blades with two foes outside a castle in this lively, swashbuckling cover of Robin Hood. Frank Bolle brought Sir Robin of Locksley and his Merry Men to life in the original Robin Hood series and its follow-up, The Adventures of Robin Hood. Inspired by the popular television series starring Richard Greene, Bolle's artwork beautifully captured the action, adventure, and timeless spirit of the beloved hero in the 1950s. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 7.25" x 10.5". Toning, marginal tape residue staining, marginal discolored tape, whiteout corrections, glue residue staining due to missing text paste-up which read "All New Adventures", stat logo, publication, CCA stamp, month, and price paste-ups, and light handling wear.
