Description

Yarrowstalks #3 (Brian Zahn, 1967) Condition: FN. Above-average copy of the extremely hard-to-find third issue of Yarrowstalks. This eight-page tabloid (with one page of ads), published in Philly in 1967, is basically Robert Crumb's first published solo comic book. It was through Yarrowstalks that Charley Plymell and Don Donahue first discovered Crumb's comic art, which led directly to the publication of Zap Comix #1 in February, 1968. This copy has a minor corner crunch (upper left) and a bit of toning on the back cover, but it was never folded and is about as solid a copy as we've ever seen. Needless to say, it's nearly impossible to find in any grade. Fogel's 2015 Underground Price & Grading Guide FN value = $500 From the Eric Sack Collection.
