Description
Murphy Anderson Showcase #61 "Beyond the Sinister Barrier!" Part 3 - The Spectre Original Art Group of 8 (DC, 1966). DC's Earth-bound Spirit of Vengeance continues his battle against Evil, and in this case, in particular, his battle against Shathan the Eternal! The story takes an unexpected sci-fi turn, as the Spectre travels through time to 1961's Soviet Union megathon nuclear test in an attempt to defeat the Dictator of Dis. The pages were produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Story Page 20 has stripped-in text corrections taped in from the reverse, which has left some tape residue stains on the front of Page 21. The last page of the story features a nice double-headshot of Jim Corrigan and the Spectre in the 10" x 9.5" image area. The page was smaller to allow room for a DC Comics Go-Go Check house ad.
