C.C. Beck Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #15 Unused Proposed Cover Preliminary Design Original Art (Gemstone Publications, 1985). Golden Age stalwart Beck constructed this showdown between Daredevil and the Yellow Claw as a proposed cover design for The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide. The conceptual miniature is a nicely finished painting in itself, with a cinematic vantage from atop the Statue of Liberty. At length, the larger version was finished, but ultimately passed over in favor of a Marvel Family-related Beck piece. The finished Daredevil illustration saw print much later via Comic Book Marketplace #31. The splendid tribute to Jack Cole's seminal characters has an image area of 5.5" x 8.5". An Overstreet COA is included. Ink and opaque watercolor on Bristol Board. Excellent condition.
