Jack Kirby Jack Kirby Collector #20 Big Barda Cover Illustration Original Art (TwoMorrows Publishing, 1998). This bold and beautiful piece features one of Jack Kirby's many powerful female characters... Big Barda! The illustration was created by The King approximately 1977 and is so spectacular that it was adapted to be the cover of Jack Kirby Collector #20. She was once the leader of the Female Furies for Granny Goodness, but now is the wife of Mister Miracle (Scott Free). Kirby's epic Fourth World Saga from DC Comics was a veritable fountain of fantastic characters and plots that DC is still using for source material to this very day. This illustration was likely created in 1977 and colored for the cover of the Kirby fanzine by renowned color artist Ken Steacy. (The color original is also available in this auction!) Pure graphite and signed in the lower right of the matted 9.5" x 15.5" image area. Glass front framed to 15.75" x 22". In Excellent condition.More information about Jack Kirby.
