Description

Ernie Chan Batman #281 Cover Original Art (DC, 1976). The Caped Crusader finds himself against the barrels of the Hungarian Special Police in a tense cover by Ernie Chan, who signed the art using his real name Ernie Chua, and who was one of the most prolific cover artists of the '70s. During the last five years of that decade, it was impossible to scan the comics racks without seeing at least one or two of his covers competing for space. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". Mild toning, marginal creasing and/or warping, all text are stat paste-ups including logotype, there are missing paste-ups (including the box at the lower right which read "A chilling tale of espionage and death -- "murder comes in black boxes!"), adhesive residue staining, and blue pencil production marks. In Very Good condition.
