Description

Peter Pan Animation Drawing (Walt Disney, 1953). "Here's your spirit, Smee!" "Why, it's Peter Pan!" The 'ghost' of Skull Rock narrowly avoids a lethal blow from Captain Hook in this outstanding action-packed original animation drawing from the 1953 Disney classic Peter Pan. This remarkable film in the production history of the Disney studio, being the last film in which all the members of Walt's Nine Old Men worked together as directing animators. Peter glides into action in this captured moment seen as the first frame of the sequence when peter swoops around Mr. Smee in his rowboat, at about 30:24 timestamp. During the momentous battle of Skull Rock, when Peter Pan saves Tiger Lily from the clutches of Captain Hook and his first mate Mr. Smee. Rendered in graphite and color pencil, Peter measures approximately 11.5" x 3.5" on a trimmed 16 field sheet measuring 15.5" x 12" not including the affixed peg holes. Rarely seen without his iconic feathered cap, this piece is a great hard-to-find image for Peter Pan fans! The drawing has light age-toning, production handling, edge wear, one pin hole on the top right corner, and nine pin holes on the top left corner of the trimmed sheet. In Very Good condition.
