Description

Drew Struzan Howard the Duck Unused Movie Poster Painting Original Art (Universal Pictures, 1986). Drew Struzan is an extremely popular movie poster painter who is best known for his work on Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Shawshank Redemption, and Back to the Future This unused painting was originally commissioned by George Lucas for the film. Struzan's movie-related paintings are highly sought after, hard to acquire, and command a high price. In fact, this is the first fully painted piece by him that Heritage has ever handled. One of the reasons for the scarcity is that producers and directors often buy the originals and keep them as personal mementos of the film. Much of his original artwork is retained by the George Lucas Estate. Howard the Duck was the first film starring a Marvel Comics character to receive national release. This very '80s painting features Lea Thompson and a young Tim Robbins. It is produced in air brush and color pencils on illustration board with an image area of 12.5" x 19" and is signed by Struzan in the lower right side. Minor stain in extreme bottom right corner, easily covered with a frame, otherwise it is in Excellent condition.
