William Messner-Loebs Journey: Tall Tales Volume 1 Cover Original Art (Fantagraphics, 1987). The bear that chases "Wolverine" MacAlistaire through the first fifteen pages of Journey #1 makes his presence known once again, in this cover illustration to the first collected volume of William Messner-Loebs' 19th century frontier series. The art is in ink and blue pencil on Bristol board, with an approximate image area of 11" x 11.25", and is signed and dated '86. Along with the ink line art, the original hand-painted blueline background art is included, ink and watercolor/color inks on illustration board that has the image area "skimmed" from the backing board (which is also included), along with a printed acetate line art overlay. All art pieces are in Excellent condition.
