Description

Harvey Kurtzman, Will Elder, and Jack Davis Playboy May 1967 Complete 5-Page Little Annie Fanny Story "The Las Vegas Kidnapping" Original Art (Playboy, 1967). Harvey Kurtzman assembled the creme de la creme of his former Mad collaborators for the beautifully rendered Little Annie Fanny feature. This Las Vegas based yarn, that puts the swing in the "swinging sixties," has a wealth of hall-of-fame comic book talent working on it. Jack Davis handled the zany Vegas "extras," Bill Elder painted the Annie faces and added his hallmarked background gags, and Harvey Kurtzman wrote and laid out the whole fershlugginer yarn. It's a testament to these artists' monumental talents that the result of the diverse hands is a masterpiece of humor art. Each luscious mixed media on board page of this mouth-watering, yet mirthful masterwork has an average approximate image area of 10.5" x 15". Aside from several lettering corrections in the word balloons, the art is in Excellent condition. Also included with this lot is the title logo production piece, as well as an acetate overlay for positioning the logo correctly on the art.
