Pep Comics #32 (MLJ, 1942) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages. An early Archie appearance is the highlight of this issue, which also features the debut of a new costume for the Shield, a bondage and torture cover by Bob Montana, and an infamous severed-head-on-a-spike splash page that was used as the cover of Roly-Poly Comics #14 little more than three years later. The story art was provided by Irv Novick and Paul Reinman. Overstreet 2022 VF 8.0 value = $2,359; VF/NM 9.0 value = $4,130. CGC census 6/23: 2 in 8.5, 3 higher.
