Detective Comics #5 (DC, 1937) CGC VG 4.0 Cream to off-white pages. This early, pre-Batman issue is difficult to find in general -- Gerber rates this issue a "7" ("scarce") in its Scarcity Index -- and the handful of copies we've encountered haven't graded higher than VG/FN 5.0. Larry Steele features begin in this issue. The cover is by Creig Flessel, and the interior art is by him and Joe Shuster. Overstreet 2019 VG 4.0 value = $4,000.
