Description

John Byrne and Joe Rubinstein Captain America #249 Machinesmith Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1980). This action-packed gem very well may be the best cover of Byrne's brief but fondly remembered run on this title. The Machinesmith is the one sending Thing and Spider-Man robots to attack Cap here. When it came to drawing metal and machinery, perhaps only Jack Kirby was the equal of Byrne, and not even "The King" would put in as much intricate detail as is seen here. The image area of this awesome cover is 9.5" x 15". Aside from some light overall paper aging, the art is in Excellent condition.
