John Byrne and Karl Kesel Superman #7 Splash Page 9 - Rampage First Appearance Original Art (DC, 1987). Rampage (Kitty Faulkner) makes her first-ever appearance on this striking splash page from John Byrne's iconic Superman run! Following an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs, scientist Kitty Faulkner undergoes a dramatic transformation into the metahuman who would later take the name Rampage.This richly detailed page captures the moment she emerges from the wreckage, shedding her human self and reawakening as a confused, disgruntled, and terrified powerhouse of incredible strength. Superman looks on, stunned by her sudden appearance, as Byrne masterfully employs forced perspective to make the Man of Steel appear diminutive -- further emphasizing Rampage's towering stature. Masterfully rendered in ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with a 10" x 15" image area; glass-front framed to 14.25" x 19.75". Light toning, an irregularly trimmed top edge, whiteout corrections, a page number paste-up, and small stains, including one within the image area. Fittingly, John Byrne signed and personalized this piece to a woman named "Kitty" in the upper right. In Very Good condition.
