Description

Will Eisner Wonder Comics #2 Unpublished Wonder Man Story Page Original Art (Fox, 1939). DC Comics sued Fox when they saw Wonder Man's first appearance, charging that the character was a blatant Superman imitation. That's why a second story never saw print! This surviving page finds Eisner's style in an embryonic state of evolution, testing the high-angle pictorial compositions and shadowplay that would become hallmarks with him. Ink over graphite on moderately toned Bristol board, with an image area of 13" x 18". Scattered white-paint retouching. Very Good condition.
