Description

Russ Heath Marvel Tales #106 Cover Original Art (Marvel/Atlas, 1952). A graverobber gets a heart-stopping surprise in the featured tale "The Dead of Night!" Artist Russ Heath masterfully illustrates this chilling moment on the cover of the early Marvel horror anthology using intricate details and deep shadows to amplify the eerie suspense. Additionally, Heath incorporates three dynamic panel previews on the left side of the cover, each offering a glimpse into the spine-tingling stories awaiting readers within the pages. Created at twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 14" x 20". Slight toning, stat reproduction logo/header and sidebar text paste-up, whiteout corrections, with adhesive residue staining and edge/handling wear. Signed by Heath in the lower image area and in Very Good condition.
