Archie Comics #1 (Archie, 1942) CGC Apparent FN/VF 7.0 Moderate (P) Off-white to white pages. Archie gets his own title after spending a year in Pep Comics. This was the first appearance of Archie's mom, Mrs. Andrews. Bob Montana drew the classic "barrel jumping" cover and art for the premiere issue. Gerber rates the issue a "7" ("scarce") on the Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books' Scarcity Index, and Overstreet has the book currently at #21 on their list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cover cleaned, reinforced, staple replaced." Overstreet 2022 GD 2.0 value = $13,200; VG 4.0 value = $26,400; FN 6.0 value = $46,200.
