Description

The Incredible Hulk #1 (Marvel, 1962) CGC VF- 7.5 Off-white to white pages. Jack "King" Kirby brings to life the saddest of all of the creatures in the Marvel universe, the Incredible Hulk. The constant struggle of the man, Bruce Banner, to keep the monster at bay, within himself, reflects a struggle each person faces at some point in their life. This first issue features the first appearance and origin of this sad hero-villain, who wages war against the terrors of a cruel and demanding governmental society? The origin and first appearance of the Hulk has always been a tough find in high or even mid-grade, so this VF- copy (with nice page quality, we might add) should draw some special interest from collectors. In addition to the Great Grey One's first appearance, Rick Jones, Betty Ross, and Thunderbolt Ross also make their presence known for the first time. Jack Kirby did the classic cover and George Roussos handled the interior art. A super-book indeed! Overstreet 2013 VF 8.0 value = $30,000. CGC census 2/14: 18 in 7.5, 29 higher.
