Description

Marie Severin and Frank Giacoia Captain America #125 Unused Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1970). This cover was completely dressed and ready to be published, but ultimately went unused. Very unusual for that much work to be done on it before the plug was pulled. The art team of "Sev-Giacoia" also produced the published cover for this issue. This piece for the story "Captured in Viet Nam!" was created in ink over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The corner box, header dressing, and logo are all printed paste-ups. The title on the lower section is hand-lettered on Bristol board, cut and trimmed and affixed to the board with production tape and glue (with residue near the title). There is a small bit of production oil stain finger prints in the top edges and just into the image area. Overall, this is in Very Good condition.
