Winsor McCay Little Nemo in Slumberland Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-24-09 (New York Herald, 1909). Flip introduces Nemo to a kid with a snowball-throwing arm like a rifle! Winsor McCay was the Godfather of Animation with his groundbreaking Gertie the Dinosaur. He also produced several other very popular comic strips, including Tale of the Rarebit Fiend. This Sunday was created on two sheets of Bristol board in ink over graphite with a combine image area of 21.75" x 27.75". The boards have been affixed to illustration board that has been scored to allow it to be folded. Toned and in Very Good condition.
