This landmark issue contains a two-page text story written by Stan Lee (his first work for Timely) titled "Captain America Foils the Traitor's Revenge" and is accompanied by illustrations from Jack Kirby. It also features a classic Red Skull / bondage cover by Alex Schomburg, and story art by Kirby (including some inked by Reed Crandall), Joe Simon, and Mac Raboy.
