Jim Aparo and Mike DeCarlo Batman #428 "A Death in the Family" Part 3 Complete 22-Page Story Original Art (DC, 1988). One of the most important Batman stories ever was the renowned "A Death in the Family" saga, which reached its penultimate issue with these original art pages.
The storyline was infamous for having its readers vote on whether Jason Todd (Robin) would live or die, and the votes for his death (a narrow margin of 72 votes), were published in this issue with the Caped Crusader finding Robin's lifeless body. Todd's death sent shockwaves through the comic book industry, making it an iconic moment in the history of the Batman that still resonates with fans some 30 years later. Superman also makes an appearance in the issue.
Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with image areas averaging 10" x 15". Mild toning, text stat paste-ups on the first page for chapter title and indicia, and blue pencil production marks. There is edge and corner wear, spots of adhesive residue, image stat paste-up corrections, text paste-up corrections, marginal notes, and faint smudging along the edges. The pages average Excellent condition.
