Action Comics #23 (DC, 1940) CGC FN 6.0 Cream to off-white pages. This issue heralded the first appearance of Superman's lifelong nemesis, Lex Luthor, as well as the first mention of the Daily Planet. This impressive copy should not be overlooked; of the 159 copies currently certified by CGC only 16 unrestored copies have a higher grade, and so far we've encountered only four of those. The cover (by Joe Shuster) has yet another dame falling for the Man of Steel! Story art is by Shuster, Sheldon Moldoff, Bernard Baily, and Fred Guardineer. Currently one of Overstreet's Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Overstreet 2024 FN 6.0 value = $17,700. CGC census 11/24: 5 in 6.0, 16 higher.CGC Grader Notes:
