Description

Edmund (Emsh) Emshwiller The Moon Men Cover Painting Original Art (Ace Books, 1963). Red Hawk confronts a towering, savage foe in this illustration based on ERB's story of the subjugation of Earth by the Moon Men and the planet's eventual liberation. Frank Frazetta chose essentially the same subject for his 1981 painting for the cover for Ace's second edition of The Moon Men. That original is also offered in this auction, Goauche on illustration board with an edge-to-edge image area of 12.5" x 20". Signed in the image area. Light edge and handling wear. Includes a copy of the book. In Excellent condition.
From the Howard Lowery Collection.
