Description
A Boy, a Gun, and Birds Bird Family Model Sheet Original Drawings Group of 4 (Columbia, 1940). In this Ben Harrison-directed Color Rhapsodies short released on 1/12/1940, a family of bluebirds face a crisis when a young boy with a pellet gun and his dog come along and cause an injury to a newborn chick. Here are four original 12 field model sheet drawings made during production of the short. They include the Father Bird (seven image in blue pencil and an outline in red); Mother Bird (seven in blue, two red pencil guide outlines); Baby Bird (twelve image in blue and red pencil plus one red pencil outline); and a Size Comparison sheet with three full blue pencil images, five wing drawings in blue, and three head outlines in red. Each sheet has a strip cut from a magazine over or behind the top pegholes. Overall condition is Good to Very Good with some handling and edge wear plus age-related paper toning.Auction Info
