Jim Aparo and Mike DeCarlo Batman #427 Complete 22-Page Story "A Death in the Family! Chapter 3" Original Art (DC, 1988). The Death in the Family saga is one of the most renowned Batman stories to date! It's the story that killed Jason Todd as Robin (with the help of readers and an 800 number), but not before Jason meets his real mother, Sheila Haywood. Chapter 3 shocked readers when it was revealed that Jason's mom works for Joker and even allows her son to fall into the deadly clown's hands inside a warehouse. Throughout these masterful pages by Batman alumni Aparo and DeCarlo, Batman and Robin must face the horrible revelations, fighting against Shelia Haywood and the Joker, as these pages set up the brutal beating of Jason Todd in Chapter 4 (which is also up for bid in this sale).Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". There are whiteout and paste-up text corrections, image stat paste-ups on Pages 10 and 21, edge and handling wear, trimmed top borders, and marginal production notes. Averaged in Very Good condition.
