SpongeBob SquarePants "Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost" SpongeBob and Patrick Production Cel (Nickelodeon, 1999). "No! Stay back!!" Spooked by a spectral figure, SpongeBob and Patrick get quite the shock in this original production cel from Season One's "Squidward the Unfriendly Ghost" of Nickelodeon's smash hit series SpongeBob SquarePants. Created by former marine biology educator Stephen Hillenburg, SpongeBob debuted on May 1, 1999, with over 300 episodes and counting over 15 seasons. Only Season One of this incredibly long-running series was traditionally animated making this offering a special treat! Premiering with Episode 11 on October 2, 1999, this segment saw SpongeBob and Patrick think they've caused Squidward's death when they accidently melt his wax statue self-portrait. This frame can be spotted shortly after, as very-much-alive Squidward emerges from the bathroom covered in talcum powder and scaring his neighbors in the process near the 3:43 timestamp of the segment when viewed online. Both hand-painted to full-figure with areas of hand-inked detail, these best buds share a frame-filling and nicely centered combined image area of 8.25" x 5.75". The multilayer 12 field cel bears production codes along the bottom edge and has been placed on a print background for display purposes; a nickelodeon seal is found in the lower right corner. With typical handling and edge wear including small areas of linework restoration, overall these scaredy cats are in Very Good condition.Auction Info
