Description
SpongeBob SquarePants "The Paper" SpongeBob Production Cel (Nickelodeon, 2000). "Now for some impressions! A guy with a mustache- Look at me, I'm a guy with a mustache!" SpongeBob's infectious laughter and fun-loving personality are exemplified in this original production cel from the Season 1 segment "The Paper" of his titular Nicktoon. SpongeBob SquarePants was one of the last Nicktoons to premiere in the 1990s, and the only one of the decade still airing with season 15 currently in production. Of those seasons, however, only Season 1 was traditionally cel animated. "The Paper" aired as the second segment of episode 16 in February of 2000, and followed SpongeBob's humorous escapades with Squidward's discarded gum wrapper, much to his neighbor's annoyance. This frame can be spotted near the 3:52 mark of the segment when viewed online. Full-figured and delightfully centered, SpongeBob has been hand-painted and partially hand-inked to a character size of 4.5" x 5.25" including his shadow on the multilayer cel which bears sequence numbers in the lower right of each layer. The 12 field cel has been placed on a print background for display purposes, and is accompanied by a CoA. With typical studio handling and wear including minor surface wear/debris, minor linework wear with areas of restoration, and faint color bleed paint wear to the eyes and paper, overall this merry cel is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
