Description

The Atom Ant Show Vintage Production Layout Drawing (Hanna-Barbera, 1965). A vintage layout drawing featuring the mighty Atom Ant from Hanna-Barbera's The Atom Ant Show (NBC, 1965), produced as a companion to The Secret Squirrel Show. In hand-drawn production, layout drawings are the blueprint of a scene-defining composition, perspective, character staging, and planned camera moves for animators and background artists. Rendered in graphite on 12-field animation paper, this example includes a red pencil frame line that maps the camera field, ensuring clean staging and readable action. At center, Atom Ant stands about 3.5" tall with a raised finger and his signature call to action, "Up and at 'em, Atom Ant!"-a classic pose that captures his confident, can-do spirit. Voiced first by Howard Morris and later by Don Messick, the pint-sized hero became a hallmark of mid-1960s television animation with fast timing, bold shapes, and economical, expressive linework. A rare, production-used artifact from Hanna-Barbera's influential era, this layout displays studio craft at its most functional and appealing. Condition is Good, with a trimmed bottom-left corner and mild age-related toning-ideal for collectors of vintage television animation.
