Description
Rocky and His Friends Mr. Peabody Studio Model Sheet Print Group of 3 (Jay Ward, c. 1959). "Sherman, set the WayBack Machine for...." This genius canine with glasses and a pet boy is Mr. Peabody, and here are three rare authentic studio-used model sheet prints of him, with art by Pete Burness. The first has seven full-figure poses with notes in Spanish (the series was animated in Mexico), and the sheet has an overall image area of 11.75" x 8.25"; individual figure sizes are 3" to 3.75" tall. The original art to this sheet can be seen on page 156 of Darrell Van Citters' book The Art of Jay Ward Productions (we've included a copy of this page and the book's cover). Next is a mouth chart with six head shots that average 2.25" x 2.25" with notes in English and Spanish. The overall image area is approximately 11" x 5". The last sheet is a "full cycle" walk chart with eight full-figure images that average 3" x 3" with an overall image area of 11.5" x 9.5". All three pages are printed on Agfa Copyrapid direct transfer paper measuring 16.5" x 11.5". The sheets are in Good condition with some handling and edge wear, and age-related paper toning.From the Darrel Van Citters Collection.
