Description

Dudley Do-Right Horse and Nell Scene Cel on Production Background (Jay Ward, c. 1970s). Don't they make a lovely couple? It was a running gag throughout this cartoon series that while Dudley Do-Right was partial to Inspector Fenwick's daughter Nell, she only had eyes for Dudley's horse! This is a rare hand-inked, hand-painted Scene cel that was originally sold at Jay Ward's gift shop, the Dudley Do-Right Emporium, located a short distance from Jay's studio on Sunset Blvd. in West Hollywood. As the actual production cels from all the Rocky and Bullwinkle segments were for the most part trashed years ago, Scene cels like this are the best option for many collectors. The combined image of Nell and Horse (yes, that's his official name) has an approximate image size of 4.5" x 6.75". The cel is placed on a rare original Jay Ward trimmed production background from an unspecified cartoon and placed in a Jay Ward Productions mat with an opening of 7" x 9". The mat has considerable handling and edge wear with age-related toning and is in Good condition; the cel and background are in Very Good condition with minor handling wear.
