Description
The Flintstones "Monster Fred" Pair of Original Fred and Barney Production Cels (Hanna-Barbera, 1964). This terrific pair of original production cels comes from "Monster Fred," the second episode of the fifth season of the original The Flintstones, which aired on September 24, 1964. Hand-painted on 12-field acetate, one cel captures Fred Flintstone lining up a bowling shot, poised to deliver one of his trademark strikes, while the second features Barney Rubble standing by with his bowling ball bag. Both cels are attractively set against a printed bowling alley background-lane 13 for good luck-creating a fun, cohesive display. In the episode, Fred is struck on the head by a bowling ball and awakens believing he is a baby. Hoping to help, Barney takes Fred to Dr. Frankenstone, whose personality-switching experiments only make matters more chaotic. The episode blends bowling humor with classic Flintstones slapstick. These vintage production cels showcase one of Fred's favorite pastimes and the enduring friendship between Fred and Barney. A wonderful and nostalgic pairing, presented in Very Good condition.Auction Info
