Description
Phil Jimenez - Artemis Illustration Original Art (2010). Although many of DC Comics' Amazons have managed to break out from underneath Wonder Woman's shadow, Artemis of Bana-Mighdall is arguably the most recognizable and popular of them! This Artemis-related lot contains a gorgeous, one-of-a-kind sketch of the fabled Amazon warrior from out artist Phil Jimenez, as well as a CGC-Certified copy of her debut here in the pages of Wonder Woman #90 (NM/M 9.8). Following her first appearance in #90, Artemis would quickly inherit the mantle of Wonder Woman in issue #92, becoming a grittier and more headstrong version of the iconic character. Even though this ill-fated tenure led to her apparent death, Artemis returned to the land of the living and eventually linked up with Red Hood (Jason Todd) and his band of Outlaws in the DC Rebirth era. In Red Hood and the Outlaws #6, Artemis got flirtatious with a fellow Amazonian warrior, Akila, confirming her bisexuality! Between Artemis, Cheetah, Etta Candy, and Princess Diana of Themyscira herself, the Wonder Woman corner of the DC Universe has become one the most LGBTQ+ inclusive in mainstream comics!
