Description
Dick Ayers and Rich Buckler The Mighty Crusaders #8 The Shield Splash Page 1 Original Art (Archie, 1984). Joe Higgins, the original Shield from the 1940s, gets a solo story titled "Shield Saves Hundreds!" that starts off with this splash page of a faux LIFE magazine cover. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". There are corner trims, and the top margin is irregularly trimmed. The LIFE logo is hand-drawn; however, the rest of the masthead and the lower headline are all stat paste-ups. Lightly toned, with some whiteout art clean-ups.
