Description

Arthur Adams and Tim Townsend The Authority #27 Story Page 8 Original Art (DC/Wildstorm, 2001). From one of only two issues of The Authority illustrated by Art Adams, two panels of this page were altered before publication, making this the only place to view Adams' original intent. Featuring G7 Authority members the Colonel and the Street, the third panel displays a barrage of slurs and highly offensive signage, which were covered up for publication. The fourth shows an unresponsive "Nurse Sparks" lying in bed with a cigarette in her mouth and alcohol on the nightstand, and strongly implies that the Colonel intends to take advantage of her despite her incapacitated state. This panel was removed entirely from the final comic and replaced with a scene depicting three partially undressed women. Ink over graphite on DC/Wildstorm Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 16". Many pinholes in the top corners, marginal notes, and smudging/handling wear. In Excellent condition.
